Our family grew up putting hot sauce on just about everything; chips, tacos, pizza, fruit, and our fingertips. In Laredo, it's the condiment of choice, and bottles trace a map of the city aboard purses and backpacks.
Setting out to put the Siete spin on something so near and dear to our hearts and the pulse of our City was a challenge. We ultimately decided to invigorate four, classic South Texas table sauces with clean, nutritionally-driven ingredients, like flax, chia, turmeric, pepitas, and avocado oil. We're super happy with how the sauces turned out, and we're proud to serve them on our table, keep them in our bags, and (most importantly) share them with you!
Traditional: We'll tell you the secret: it's the puya peppers. What's the question? That's up to you, we're just making hot sauces here! Stroll into any casual restaurant in Mexico and you'll find a sauce like this on the table. Our traditional hot sauce is a loving homage to those table sauces, given the Siete spin by including nutrient dense ingredients like flax seed, chia, and golden beets.

Habanero: The Habanero is the tiger of chiles. Like the tiger, the pepper evokes ideas of exoticism, power, beauty, and fear. The challenge in making this sauce was to show the beauty and sweetness of the tiger, rather than the, y'know, Siegfried & Roy side. So we tamed the beast, adding golden beets, carrots, and dates to accentuate the pepper's sweetness, making the dangerous heat more of a through-line that conducts the orchestra of flavors than a solo artist. While this is the hottest of our sauces, it's a playful heat that we think you'll find pleasant in its restraint. That big scary predator is just a sweet cat at heart.

Jalapeño: "The green sauce" is all you have to say in South Texas. In return, you're taken down a rabbit hole into a world where roasted Jalapeños rule. The slow application of heat removes the Jalapeños bitter skin and unveils a sweet, almost playful, flavor that's creamy and savory and interesting and not quite like any other hot sauce or salsa you've tried before! Okay, deep breath! Before we get any more carried away, we'll just say you gotta try this sauce!

Chipotle: They say that four trees define the smoke of Texas: hickory, oak, pecan, and mesquite. But this definition is missing a key element. Chipotle! These smokey and spicy dried peppers add the can't put your finger on it, fire alarm checking, depth of flavor that makes so many Mexican-American salsas cravable. Our hot sauce takes that classic flavor profile and builds upon it by adding morita and puya peppers and a hint of orange peel. Try to use just one dash!
